"I'd love to help, I really would, but I just don't have the time."

Hold the phone, busy bee, you CAN volunteer with the SPCA Tampa Bay with minimal
disruption of your schedule.  You can be a pet bank manager.  Pet bank managers place and monitor pet banks in local businesses.  Periodically, the manager exchanges a full bank with an empty bank and returns the full bank back to the shelter.  The time commitment required ranges from a few minutes to about an hour per month.  Think of the places you normally go and if there isn't already a pet bank on the counter, ask if you could bring them one.

Requirements: Volunteer Orientation (2 hours)
  Mentor Session (1 hour)

Time Commitment: Monthly pick up/drop off of banks

We also have a need for trustworthy people to count and log the pet bank money.  This is an opportunity for anyone who can count to spend an hour or two each week, helping us tally the donations.

"I like to sit in piles of money, grabbing fistfuls of coins and throwing them high over my head, letting them rain down on me like pennies from heaven.  Mwwuahaa!"

We appreciate your enthusiasm.  If you can count, we want you.

"I am a numismatist and am on an endless endeavor to find a 1943 copper."

Good Luck!  It might take you a little longer to complete the task, but if you can count, we want you.

"I am a germaphobe"

We can supply gloves.  So, if you can count, we want you.

"I don't care too much for money, money can't buy me love"

No, but it can buy food, medicine and kitty litter.  So, if you can count, we want you.

I have been a pet bank manager for 3 years and have 9 locations that I pick up every month. This is just a small part of what I can do to help raise money to feed and give medical care to every animal that comes to our shelter.

As an animal lover I know how very important this job is. Some banks are full and some not so full but I know that when it comes to the care of these very special animals every penny counts.
